⚙ Work
“Is my insatiable curiosity for variety stealing focus from that most important thing I should be doing right now?”
What’s WHELHO?
I’ve been building things since 1996. Websites, businesses, nonprofits, systems, teams, curricula, content pipelines, AI automations… the list is embarrassingly long. And every single one taught me something I couldn’t have learned any other way.
The Work realm is where craft meets purpose. It’s not about hustle culture or grinding until you break. It’s about doing meaningful work, doing it well, and building systems so that work can continue without you being the bottleneck.
If you’re a business owner still doing everything yourself… if you’re a nonprofit leader wearing twelve hats… if you’re a creative who can’t figure out how to turn your passion into something sustainable… this realm is for you.

Your Camera Isn’t Afraid of High ISO… You Are
You’ve been lied to. Somewhere along the way… maybe a forum, maybe a YouTube comment section, maybe a well-meaning photographer friend… someone told you ISO 100 was sacred ground. That anything higher was reckless. Dangerous. A cardinal sin against the image quality gods. And…
Stop Copying Old Parts… Start Designing New Possibilities
Most vent covers are just a plate with holes punched through it. That design is decades old. And if you’re 3D printing it the same way… you’re paying more for less. But here’s where it gets interesting. The same process that makes those old designs expensive also makes impossib…
Pick Your Lightsaber: Building the Same Game in 8 Engines Proves the Magic Was Always You
Picking the right game engine isn’t about finding the best one. It’s about finding *yours*. One developer built the same simple catch game in eight different engines… and accidentally proved something beautiful about how we create.
Points Mean Prizes: How One Sphere Unlocks a Universe of Procedural Effects in Bifrost
A single sphere. That’s it. One movable sphere becomes the master key to particles, fire, ivy, abstract art… and anything else you can dream up in Bifrost Visual Programming|Bifrost. Sometimes the most powerful workflows aren’t the complex ones. They’re the ones that hand you a…
The Crystal Nobody Sees: What a VFX Tutorial Taught Me About Quietly Working
A guy who lit lightsabers for Obi-Wan Kenobi spent hours teaching strangers how to chip fake rocks. For free. And somewhere in that generosity… there’s a sermon none of us asked for.
27 Shots. That’s It. What Back to the Future Teaches Us About Doing Less… Better.
Twenty-seven VFX shots. The entire film. One of the most iconic “effects movies” in cinema history runs on fewer visual effects than a 30-second car commercial. Let that land for a second.
The Hardest Work Is the Door Nobody Notices
You’ve opened ten thousand doors in video games. Never thought twice about a single one. That’s the point… and that’s also the war.
The Stage Crew of Sound: How Hollywood’s Prop Masters Win a War You Never Hear
You’ve never noticed them. That’s the whole point. Somewhere between the dialogue you love and the scene you remember, a prop master swapped the real for the fake… and you never heard a thing.
A Century-Old Fractal Vise, Reborn One Layer at a Time
A YouTube rabbit hole. A 100-year-old mechanism. A room full of 3D printers. Sometimes the best projects find you… you just have to say yes.
You Will Not Wing This Test… And That’s the Point
The FAA Part 107 drone pilot exam doesn’t care how good you are with a controller. It cares whether you’ve done the work. Whether you’ve sat with unfamiliar information long enough to let it become familiar. Whether you’ve earned the right to put something in the sky that shares …
The Paradox Nobody Tells You About Following Your Dreams
You can spend your whole life building backup plans… and wake up one morning realizing every single one was a detour away from the thing you were made to do.
Three Lenses, One Truth: What Vectors Teach Us About Seeing Clearly
A physicist sees an arrow. A programmer sees a list. A mathematician sees pure abstraction. They’re all staring at the same thing… and they’re all right.
